I even lock the bathroom door at home whether I am by myself or not. Even if there is no fear for my safety, I lock everything. I live in the middle of cookie cutter suburbia, where there is no rampant crime but I have never understood how people say “This is such a safe area I don’t even lock my doors.”Sandranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5414508530260618813.post-57492632135427583042011-08-28T15:13:48.771+02:002011-08-28T15:13:48.771+02:00@foosrock!
There were too many cold days this summ...@foosrock!
There were too many cold days this summer. So now, the hot weather is quite refreshing, as far as Im concerned. But you are right, an AC or ceiling fan would be nice. I was at ZigZag in Zurich last Sunday, it was hot, I asked for a glass full of ice and got 2 ice cubes. I do miss ice...

As far as, respect for other people's property I think it has to due with morality, family values, and their lifestyles. A struggling class hardly exist here.

Wow, crazy that you have been robbed at work and at home. I lived on the Southside of Chicago, in Atl, NJ and have never been robbed. But Im still cautious in Switzerland.

You should be so proud of your son. That is truly incredible.KiKihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15687407724626927766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5414508530260618813.post-37694450049006180492011-08-27T16:04:12.907+02:002011-08-27T16:04:12.907+02:00LOL @ "lucky enough to have hot weather"...LOL @ "lucky enough to have hot weather". It's raining as I write this and surely 18C, but am not complaining anymore. The last two weeks of summer were hell on my insomnia, and as you know most (all?) Swiss homes/apts don't believe in aircondition....

Hmm, tis lovely no, that we can trust each other to such an extent, but do you think it's moral ethics or something else that drives this respect for other people's property here?.

By the way, I grew up in (killa)delphia, ok, the suburbs, and was never robbed or mugged, but while living in ZH, our apt. was broken into twice(kreis6/8), my car once and worst of all my purse stolen out of my bag at my place of work. This is a well know Swiss bank too. What hurt most was losing very old pics of my parents and siblings. Was gutted and still feel that pain today....

Oh, my son found chf5 between the seats on a tram and I let him decide what he wanted to do with it. He gave it to a one of the street musicians playing on Bellevue. He was only 5yrs at that time....foosrock!https://www.blogger.com/profile/04180098765728903690noreply@blogger.com
